Surrey's Fusion Festival
Holland Park, Surrey, BC
To celebrate its designation as the “2008 Cultural Capital of Canada,” the City of Surrey unveiled a season of events as diverse as its growing community. The centerpiece of the season was “Fusion Festival,” a three-day festival highlighting the area’s many distinct cultural groups.
Fusion Festival encompassed five separate stages—showcasing song, dance, cultural performances and cooking demonstrations that spanned the globe. The World Music Stage played host to international Bhangra superstar Jazzy B, Celtic Legends: The Chieftans and Canada’s brightest R&B star: Jully Black.
In order to achieve a true “taste of the world,” Panther was required to build an entire cooking infrastructure on the lawn of the city’s newest urban playground, Holland Park. The pavilion village included cooking facilities and plumbing networks for 28 vendors. Enlisting a team of plumbers and electricians ‘round-the–clock days before the show, Panther’s production team ensured that each pavilion was able to provide its patrons with a true taste of the world.
