Electronic Arts Motion Capture Studio

Electronic Arts' Motion Capture Studio ('Mocap') is one of the most advanced motion-capture recording studios in the world, hosting four seperate capture suites in a massive warehouse facility. One of their newest additions is a 600-square-foot facial modelling suite, which transforms an unused storage area into functional workspace using theatrical drape technology from Panther.

Our team of theatrical riggers climbed into the roof of Mocap to secure rolling tracks for large, movable drape panels directly to the structural steel. Now, one person can reconfigure the space from an open storage area to a functioning studio in just over a minute, providing dramatic reductions in light and sound.

Most recently, Panther was invited back to design and install a second system of acoustic drapes intended to transform one of Mocap's 3,200-square-foot motion capture facilities into a noise-dampened audiovisual recording suite. Again, the focus was on safe, solid rigging design which allows for quick and easy transformation of the studio.
